Job Description
Our large defence client, ITS-SED requires a Safety Manager that is able to act as a ‘controlling’ mind in advising Senior Safety accountable and responsible personnel on delivery of safety programmes and artefacts.
Main Responsibilities
* Deliver against the overarching programme and established safety management plan.
* Evolve and advise the safety programme to de-risk delivery and capitalise on opportunities.
* Work for assigned delivery teams to produce safety and environmental artefacts to time and quality requirements.
* The Safety Manager shall advise the Delivery Team (DT) to ensure the programme will deliver artefacts to demonstrate that policy, legislation, and defence regulation have been met and that assets are demonstrably safe.
* The Safety Manager shall be the Delivery Team (DT) focal point. As a result, will be required to represent the DT at required safety engagements, including regulatory interface, and can brief up and down.
* The Safety Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day activity, delivering against agreed activity and tasks.
Essential Skills and Experience
* ITAR is required.
* Working within the DE&S ITS-SED ASEP resource augmentation team, deployed within the Weapons Domain.
* Practitioner level experience of DE&S safety management systems and processes (POSMS).
* Experienced in OME Safety
* Practitioner level experience of Safety and Environmental Management Plans.
* Practitioner level experience of Safety Case / A Safety Case Report.
* Practitioner level experience of Hazard Logs.
* Practitioner level experience of Hazard identification and assessment.
* Practitioner level experience of Operation of safety review meetings.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Working with WOC
* eCassandra.
* Fault and Event Tree (FTA / ETA).
* BowTie assessment.
* Safety arguments (CAE / GSN).
* Knowledge of applicable legislation, regulation and standards and defence policy.
