Our global trading offices are staffed by experienced traders who count Gas, Crude Oil, Light and Middle Distillates, as well as Bitumen, as their specialties. The traders are supported by skilled shipping and financial operations personnel, headquartered in Athens.
Main Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain relationships with banks; negotiate new bilateral trade finance facilities.
2. Responsible for issuance, advising, confirmation and discounting of import and export Documentary LCs and SBLCs.
3. Presentation of transactions to banks and maintaining a good & professional relationship.
4. Handling of all traditional Trade Finance functions (i.e. Issuing/Receiving Letter of Credits, Standby Letters of Credit, Banker’s Guarantees, Tender Bonds, Short Term Funding, Import Collection, Export Negotiation as well as follow up on redemption of guarantees and LOIs etc.).
5. Cost optimization throughout financing platform regardless import/export legs.
6. Set-up, implement and follow through for Prepayment, Inventory and receivables financing, Credit Monitoring, Trade Finance and Operational Procedures and Policies.
7. Ensure transactions are executed with lowest possible risks of loss (be it price, operational, credit, documentary etc.).
8. Source for De-risking solutions via Credit Insurance Markets and various Financial Institutions (including Accounts Receivables Programs and Portfolio Risk Covers); negotiating policies and facility letters with various functions.
9. Spearheading and assisting in new banking relationships, drafting and structuring term sheets for subsequent bilateral bank facilities negotiations and follow-through.
10. Structure pockets of liquidity where the Company could draw on within uncommitted bilateral bank facilities.
11. Reporting of bank positions related to trade facilities, charges applied and line utilisation.
12. Presentation of transactions to banks and supporting and maintaining a good & professional relationship with core bank.
13. Analysing market rates for best confirmation rates for country risk LC cover and counterparty payment risk cover.
14. Liaising with and providing advice to different teams/departments.
Desired Skills and Experience
1. Good knowledge of UCP 600.
2. Experience in the energy trading industry is a big benefit but not mandatory.
3. Bachelor’s or higher degree – preferably in Economics/Finance, preferable but not essential.
4. Experience in similar role of minimum 2 years.
5. Confident in discussing Trade products and discrepant documents with clients providing them with factual reasoning for decisions made.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
7. Well organized, self-motivated with ability to use initiative and manage own workload without close supervision.
8. Good communication skills both written and oral.
9. Ability to examine issues and propose workable solutions to resolve.
10. Keen eye for detail.
11. Accurate and timely data inputting and administration.
12. Ability to work to strict deadlines.
13. Previous financial services experience would be beneficial.
14. Excellent English (any other languages like French, Arabic would be an asset).
15. Knowledge of KOMGO, beneficial but not essential.
