Location: Hybrid - remote and office based.
You will be required to attend your nearest Generation hub office in London/Leeds/ Manchester/ Birmingham 1-4 times a month (based on proximity to the offices). Our offices are accessible to people with disabilities, flexible working hours available.

Contract: full-time; 40 hours per week, 9AM-6PM
About The Role
As Volunteer Engagement Officer, you will support Generation programmes across the UK and Ireland, working within the Learning Operations Team.
You will be responsible for managing our volunteer programme, which is designed to help Generation learners improve their interview and employability skills. You will work with hundreds of volunteers from our partners organisations, organising multiple volunteering events per week. You will lead on recruiting volunteers, advertising events, managing registrations and supporting volunteers across their journey. This role requires excellent communications skills and stakeholder management, along with strong presentation skills.
As part of the Learning Operations Team, you will help set up each virtual event and ensure staff teams are prepared to deliver them. This requires strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and working with digital tools. You will join an ambitious and fast-paced team, where you will collaborate with the team to streamline our processes and innovate our ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer management
* Work with partner organisations to promote Generation's volunteering opportunities, attending volunteer drives and events to attract volunteers.
* Identify new organisations to partner with, including pitching our volunteer programme, and working with our partners to launch successful campaigns to deliver sign-ups.
* Develop and deliver training and briefing sessions to prepare volunteers for their roles.
* Manage recruitment and registration for volunteer events, ensuring volunteers have what they need in advance of events.
* Deliver our internal staff registration drive to ensure we have staff as reserve volunteers for all events.
* Work closely with our Grants and Partnerships teams to ensure our funders and employer partners have positive volunteering experiences.
Programme support and administration
* Support with operational set-up for Generation programmes, responsible for all tasks related to volunteer events.
* Customise and manage cohort calendars, liaising with partners and regional teams where required to schedule guest speakers and events.
* Communicate effectively with staff so that delivery teams are set up to deliver successful events.
* Be available to support for each volunteering event and check-in during live events for quality assurance.
* Adhere to Generation's Safeguarding Policy and promote learner wellbeing in all learner interactions.
Tracking, evaluation and programme learning
* Track and report volunteering activity through TicketTailor, Google sheets, and PowerBI.
* Monitor and evaluate volunteer quality and performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Produce quarterly reports for all volunteer partners.
* Use tools including Salesforce, Google forms and sheets, and Power BI to collect and analyse data.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
To succeed, we think you'll need...
* Integrity, positive attitude, and self-directed with demonstrated passion for Generation's mission.
* Minimum of 2 years' work experience, ideally including working with volunteers and coordinating live and virtual events.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable presenting to a range of audiences and stakeholders.
* Great relationship-building skills, motivated to bring on new volunteering partners and growing our relationships with existing partners.
* Preference for a fast-paced working environment and working on multiple projects/tasks at once.
* Target driven - motivated to achieve our ambitious volunteering targets.
* Organised and efficient, with an eye for detail.
* Flexible and a willingness to try adapt in order to problem-solve and increase efficiency.
* Proficiency with G-Suite services is required. Proficiency with data visualisation tools is a plus, and if not, a willingness to learn.
