Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to a gentleman with dementia in his own home. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for this gentleman through empathy, patience, and professional skills.
Responsibilities
* Assist client with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of the client.
* Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
* Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop individualised care plans.
* Ensure a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties as required.
* Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in care provision.
Requirements
* Previous experience in similar environments is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of first aid procedures and medication administration is essential.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
* A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in care provision will be an advantage.

Pay: £12.50 per hour
