The Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing SMA’s commercial and utility inverters and the end customer experiences ensuring minimum downtime. Duties include commissioning, troubleshooting, replacing and repairing inverters and other SMA technology. Duties also include technical reporting and direct customer facing support.
Key responsibilities:
1. Service, repair, maintain and inspect the wide variety of equipment and systems that are installed throughout the UK.
2. Delivering excellent field service for commercial and utility solar projects.
3. Commissioning, inspecting and repairing PV systems installed by leading EPCs.
4. Troubleshooting and repairing string and central inverters as well as other SMA technology.
5. Collaborating with our customers, the leading companies in solar, in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
6. Communicating with senior service managers to deliver the highest level of service and quality.
7. Answering incoming customer calls and processes customer queries and error messages sent to the service line at our subsidiary.
8. Handling of Service Logistics and spare parts for changing out the individual inverter components and organizing the related logistics.
9. Recording issues in SAP CRM documentation.
10. Maintains the highest safety standards in the workplace and on-site.
