Production Engineering Technician
Location: Horsham and Merstham

Purpose of the Job:
Technician within Manufacturing Operations focused on supporting the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and equipment.
Shift Pattern:
Normal Working Hours: Dayshift (8:30-17:00) – Dual site role
Key Accountabilities:
Document control
Responsible for updating, issuing and training of relevant documentation, this would include work instructions, tooling records, risk assessments and COSHH.
Process support
Assist in setting up, testing, and calibrating machinery and equipment.
Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to specifications and identify areas for improvement.
Support the development and implementation of new manufacturing techniques or technologies.
Data Collection & Analysis:
Record production data to evaluate the efficiency of equipment and processes.
Perform tests and analyse results to verify the performance of machinery or identify process inconsistencies.
Collaboration:
Work closely with engineers to design production workflows and layouts.
Train production staff on operating procedures, safety protocols and equipment handling.
Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to initiatives aimed at reducing waste, improving productivity, and enhancing product quality.
Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other improvement methodologies
Knowledge and skills required for the role:
Expected:
Practical, hands-on collaborative approach
Versatile skills in mechanical and electrical tasks
Qualifications – minimum apprentice level
Desirable:
Creative design capabilities for tooling and fixtures
Proficiency in design tools like AutoCAD/Creo
Knowledge of g-code programming
Lean or 6sigma
