Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Operating and Emergency Response, this role will lead a team of 6 direct reports and oversee the management, leadership and strategic direction of the Bright Spark program, which includes up to 200 Electrical Apprentices across various trades, including Electricians, Lineworkers, and Cable Jointers.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to lead our Bright Spark Apprentice Program, ensuring the development of skilled, engaged tradespeople for our workforce. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for managing the operations, designing and implementing the strategy, and delivery of a high-performing Electrical Apprenticeship Program that sets industry standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Managing Operations and Strategy: Overseeing the operations, strategy, and delivery of the Apprenticeship Program to set industry standards.
2. Collaboration with Partners: Working with external partners to ensure apprentices meet national standards and regulatory requirements.
3. Focus on Safety: Driving a culture of supervision, coaching, and continuous improvement with a strong emphasis on safety.
4. Relationship Management: Building strong connections with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the program’s success.
5. Contract and Performance Management: Managing tenders, contracts, and performance assessments, and implementing strategies to enhance the program’s experience and brand.
6. Leadership: Guiding the team, fostering partnerships, and driving the program to new heights.

* NSW Class C Driver License.
* Recognised units of competency in program and project management and delivery.
* Exceptional written and oral communication skills with a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
* Proven ability to coach, support, and provide feedback to technical specialists for effective training and assessment.
* Experience in supporting organisational change and implementing learning practices, systems, and tools.
* Demonstrated ability to cultivate, lead, and motivate teams across multiple sites.
* Skilled in stakeholder relationship management to facilitate effective business change, including initiating and influencing key stakeholder relationships.
* Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, industrial awards, and EEO pertinent to Ausgrid’s operating environment.
* Comprehensive understanding of statutes, regulations, and procedures, including safe working practices, network standards, and codes of practice.
* Experience in liaising with various stakeholders and resolving complaints/issues.
* Strong leadership and management skills and experience.
