The project:
Jhoots Prescription Location, Availability, and Readiness (“Jhooplar”) will be a prescription tracker that connects GP surgeries, hospitals, pharmacies, and patients. It will permit seamless medication delivery to a patient’s preferred collection point while providing learning opportunities regarding medication management.
The NHS has moved away from a monolithic IT system to defining interoperability standards for separate systems. The project will use these APIs to build Jhooplar. The focus will be on:
1. Identifying the process steps and workflow.
2. Identifying APIs for the NHS Electronic Prescription Service, EMIS electronic prescribing and medicines administration system (EPMA), NHS GP Connect, and the NHS Care Records Service.
3. Development of a prototype system that monitors the location and status of a prescription.
