SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College) is a specialist higher education institution delivering tertiary education, research and consultancy.
SRUC employs approximately 1,300 staff operating from five campuses, eight farms, 25 consulting offices, six research centres and eight veterinary surveillance centres located primarily across Scotland.
SRUC’s principal purpose is to advance education, science, research, and environmental protection and improvement in rural and land-based industries, both domestically and internationally.
The Opportunity:
The main purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the Quality Assurance team. In this role you will:
* Support the Registry by providing high quality administrative support as part of the Quality Assurance team.
* Manage correspondence efficiently and effectively e.g. incoming/outgoing queries received by the team.
* Support the management of application types.
* Support the management of safeguarding procedures by monitoring the completion, recording and follow up of safeguarding reports.
* Liaise with external awarding bodies, including for SQA and City and Guilds.
* Provide information & reports for colleagues throughout SRUC.
* Maintain records and databases of activities.
* Order and receipt goods and services for the Quality Assurance team.
* Invoice external clients.
* Liaise with colleagues to arrange and support internal and external meetings.
* Undertake minute taking for a range of meetings.
* Arrange travel (including the use of the Travel Management system and booking of hire cars) and accommodation for staff and visitors.
* Maintain records of safety assessments for the Quality Assurance team.
* Assist with the review, development and implementation of administrative procedures and processes with the team.
* Create, test, modify and maintain digital forms for Education Manual procedures (using MS Forms and Power Automate). Monitor the implementation and utilisation of forms ensuring that the form flow remains live.
* Create and maintain Teams/ Intranet/ Moodle sites for QA Team and allied activities i.e. validations, ILR events etc.
* Assist in the planning for and recording of Equality Impact Assessments of the policies and procedures within the Education Manual.
* Provide occasional relief administration support for other teams as appropriate.
The postholder is responsible for assisting in a range of QA activities that ensure that SRUC remains compliant with the external scrutiny requirements of a range of organisations i.e. Quality Assurance Agency, Education Scotland, Landex and the Awarding Bodies.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess a good general standard of education and ideally have an HNC/D or equivalent experience. A good knowledge of IT software, particularly Microsoft Office is essential as is some knowledge of the FE and/or HE sector.
