Working at Bristol Eye Hospital
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinic coordinator to join our small friendly team; to help us to deliver an excellent service for our patients with complex vision needs.
Our clinic co-ordinators help plan, organise and arrange our optometry clinics and provide administrative help with the smooth running of our busy optometry department office where we order and supply specialist contact lenses, low vison aids and glasses for our patients.
The job is varied and interesting; good communication skills are extremely important because as well as interaction with other departments, the post includes a lot of patient contact, both on the telephone and face to face. You must be able to demonstrate good organisational skills, be able to work well within a team, as well as autonomously at times. An attention to detail is essential for this post.
Experience of working in the NHS or other health care setting is an advantage, but not essential as training will be given. There are many potential opportunities for further training and experience within the Trust for the right person, and this post is an ideal opportunity for someone with administrative experience, who is seeking more of a patient interactive role within the NHS.
We welcome applications from suitably experienced dedicated people who would be interested in this post as a regular part-time worker or on a job share basis.
The post holder will be jointly responsible for organising optometry outpatient clinics, supporting the core optometry team in the day to day administration of their clinics, out-patient services, as well as have a key role in supporting the organisation of training and education within the department.
Core optometry clinics provide assessment, correction of vision and the supply of optical appliances (such as spectacles, specialist contact lenses and Low Vision Aids) for patients with ocular disease. The role of clinic coordinator serves as a direct contact for patients accessing our services, and high standards of patient care are expected, by enacting the Trust’s values at all times. You will need to well organised, and able to prioritise your workload in a busy environment and be able to work well within a team, as well as work autonomously at times.
Hours: Monday - Friday, full-time (37.5) hours per week by arrangement with the other members of the administration team, to enable cover of the office during office hours.
