Job summary As a Biomedical Scientist the post holder will be expected work within the professional standards of the Health Professions Council (HCPC) and maintain a portfolio of evidence to support their continuous professional development (CPD). After training the post holder will be required to participate in out of hours rota's including extended working days, weekends and oncall. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will work within the Microbiology department undertaking a range of scientific procedures using automated and manual processes with a range of biological samples to contribute to the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of infectious diseases. All staff within the department are encouraged to actively participate in the departments quality management system. The Microbiology department is an IBMS accredited training laboratory and supports staff in completion of the IBMS Specialist Portfolio. See attached job description for further information.
