The Role
We are looking to recruit an Advanced Practitioner to join the Medical/Orthopaedic team at University Hospital Wishaw!
The successful candidate will work autonomously across Primary, Community and Acute Services during the in and out of hours period, covering seven days including public holidays.
They will be responsible for the clinical decision making for the population including assessment and treatment of patients across the Primary, Community and Acute settings.
The Advanced Practitioner will:
* Work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT)/medical staff including the OOH Hub and Acute Services
* Communicate on a daily basis about any patient they have seen overnight/at weekend and who needs to be followed up by the GP/Acute Services during normal working hours
* Provide assessment, clinical care and management of both stable and acutely unwell patients and their families, making complex, autonomous decisions using advanced skills and knowledge, having overall responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the delivery of advanced care.

What we'll need you to bring
* Registered Nurse / AHP / Pharmacist with valid NMC/HCPC / GPHC Registration.
* Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
* Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced clinical practice and expertise within speciality/area of practice.
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
* Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice.
* Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement.
* Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
* Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality.
* Excellent team-working/leadership skills and ability to motivate and influence others.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology.
It would be great if you also have:
* Evidence of education in advanced practice/urgent care
* Masters level education
* Non-medical prescribing qualification
* Relevant and demonstrable experience within an emergency setting
* Knowledge and awareness of safe person centred care
* Caring and Compassionate
