Purpose of the job
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions, leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management, are recruiting a Engineering Supervisor to join the team located in. The successful candidate will be able to apply a risk-focused maintenance approach and operations of plant and systems in data centres/critical environments and general office environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Able to manage a team of Shift Engineers
2. Able to manage own time and allocate works to other team members
3. Able to manage cost related to delivery of maintenance activities (specialist and self-perform)
4. Ensuring all client services, computer rooms, data networks, manufacturing and revenue earning services meet client requirements or appropriate SLAs
5. Operate dilapidation and update plans relating to critical environments
6. Operate change control process covering business critical areas
7. Provide technical management reports as required
8. Provide emergency response standby/call-out
9. Monitor utilities management and environmental programmes
10. Support critical environment related technical audits
11. Support cost-effective procurement of engineering maintenance services.
12. Operate within annual engineering budgets for the maintenance and repair of the services
13. Responsibility for ensuring all critical related engineering maintenance documentation/records are kept in clearly identified and retrievable systems
14. Advise the Facilities Management Team of changes in critical environment requirements
15. Plan Statutory Compliance Maintenance and Testing and report as required the Statutory Compliance Audit Report to the Technical Services Manager
16. Ensure all PPM's and Critical Facility PPM's are carried out to schedule
17. Monitor and analyse environmental conditions, review the loading and working conditions of critical equipment regularly
18. Liaise with the CBRE EHS specialist to ensure audit compliance at all times
19. Ensure maintenance is carried out in line with CBRE H&S procedures, using the permit to work system where applicable and action improvements identified during the building and workplace inspections and reviews
20. Escalate urgent issues identified through to the Engineering Manager
Personal Specification
1. Electrician with recognised qualifications (apprenticeship, HND, C&G)
2. 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations - essential
3. Previous experience in operating data centres/critical environments - desirable
4. Knowledge of emergency response/standby/call out activities and protocols
5. Understand the monitoring of utilities and environmental programmes
6. IOSH or equivalent H&S training
7. Excellent contract/supplier management skills
8. Excellent facilitation, communication skills at all levels
9. Self-motivated, resourceful and pro-active
10. Confident decision maker
11. Understanding of water hygiene (L8) - desirable
12. BMS Controls experience / HVAC experience - desirable
13. Operational experience of UPS, Standby Power and Critical Environment Cooling
14. Operational experience of managing Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality Systems
15. PC and MS office skills
