County Durham and Darlington Maternity and Neonatalservices place huge value on the voices of the families we care for andrecognise the role of the service user as a crucial part of the overalldevelopment of the maternity and neonatal service. We are seeking a current orrecent user of Maternity or Neonatal services in CDDFT to work alongside ourcurrent MNVP lead. This role is perfect for an individual dedicated toimproving maternity and neonatal services, fostering engagement andcollaboration with women and families from the diverse communities we serve.
Main duties of the job
An MNVP is a team of women/ birthing people and their families,commissioners and providers, working together to review and contribute to thedevelopment of local maternity and neonatal care.
MNVPs serve the needs of local women and families, gatheringfeedback and advising Local Maternity and Neonatal Systems (LMNSs), expertclinical groups and those commissioning services from a service userperspective.
All women, partners and families can get involved with theirMNVP by giving feedback or becoming service user representative.
Membership of an MNVP may include:
* Maternityservice users and families (they must make up at least a third of the group)
* Clinicaland managerial representation (midwives, obstetricians, neonatologists,managers, communication services, patient experience team)
* Charitiesand advocacy groups
* Statutorypartners, including Healthwatch
The MNVPs help shape decision making and the way servicesare designed and developed. They can provide an avenue to act as a criticalfriend and make sure that anything which impacts women and their families isconsidered.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

* Buildstrong influential relationships with providers, commissioners and local systempartners at all levels in order to facilitate co-production in transformation,safety agendas and decision making.
* Work inpartnership with the current MNVP lead to ensure service user voices arerepresented at Trust meetings (Including but not limited to: MatNeo SafetyChampion meeting, perinatal governance, Safeguarding Audit Governance Education,Evidence based practice group, Perinatal Mortality Review Tool).
* Workalongside the maternity service to ensure it remains responsive to changes inservice user needs in line with current evidence and practice.
* Coproducethe MNVP workplan and budget requirements with members of the MNVP andmaternity and neonatal leadership.
* Lead on15 Steps site visits to identify areas for improvement in relation to qualityand safety of maternity and neonatal services from service user perspective.

Person Specification
Experience
* Knowledge of administrative skills
* Knowledge and good use of IT systems and the ability to communicate digitally.
* Understanding of Confidentiality and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).
* Knowledge of NHS maternity and neonatal care and an enthusiasm to improve quality of care.
* Have experience, knowledge and understanding of the local population.
* Skills and enthusiasm in networking, connecting and building relationships.
* Ability to review feedback, identify key themes and present these to decision makers in both written and verbal formats.
* Strong organisational skills
Qualifications
* Demonstrable experience of maternity and neonatal services as a service user within the past 5 years.
* Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
* Ability to show leadership and support and coordinate service users.
* Experience of working in teams, in partnership with and supporting others.
