Giffels Webster has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Oakland County office located in Birmingham, Michigan. As a Senior Engineer, you will work on high-profile land development projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life in southeast Michigan. This position will be hybrid in our Birmingham, MI office, working 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently on various engineering projects and assist a wide variety of client types from architects, developers, property owners, and real estate professionals. You will work in a team environment led by a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager on a variety of tasks.
Typical responsibilities include:
* Site plan layout
* Geometrics
* Grading
* Pavement design
* Soil erosion and sediment control
* Utility (storm sanitary and water) design
* Stormwater management and green infrastructure design
* Traffic plans
* Details
* Record drawings and specifications
* Prepare permit applications and cost estimates
* Attend meetings
* Conduct field visits
* Perform construction administration tasks

Requirements
Minimum qualification:
* You have an engineering degree from an ABET accredited university or equivalent amount of applicable experience.
* At least 5 years of Civil Engineering experience
* Must have experience in AutoCAD software
* Exposure to Municipal and/or Private Development projects
Preferred qualifications:
* PE licensure in Michigan (or seeking to obtain)
* Experience in Civil3D
* Experience with water and sanitary design
* Experience in WaterCAD or WaterGems
* Experience working with MDOT Local Agency Programs
