An exciting position has become available for a Principal Systems Engineer, leading the development of system delivery elements. The Principal Systems Engineer will work with the Systems Engineering Manager on projects.
Role:
The successful candidate will lead the development and improvement of tools and processes within the business. They will also assist in ensuring tools and processes remain fit for purpose by leading regular reviews.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Planning and delivery of project solutions
2. Lead the development of new system solutions
3. Liaise with other engineering groups on issues such as EMC compatibility
4. Ensure delivery of standardised objectives
5. Undertake day-to-day management, annual appraisals, and proactive development of allocated staff
6. Management of allocated development or project delivery work packages to quality, cost, and delivery objectives
Minimum Requirements:
1. MSc or BSc level education in an engineering related subject, preferably control systems/electrical engineering/systems engineering
2. High degree of computer and software literacy
3. Knowledge of the UK railway safety approval processes
4. Good knowledge of systems engineering principles
5. IRSE Systems or Engineering Managers license
6. Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer
7. PTS
8. Corporate member of an engineering institute
9. Audit skills
