Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Practitioner to join Eden Ward. Eden Ward is a 20 bedded ward which looks after gynaecological and surgical patients with a surgical admissions lounge preparing patients for theatre. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and work closely with all members of multi-disciplinary teams, meet the person specification and be able to perform under pressure. Applicants must have successfully achieved the Foundation Degree in Healthcare Practice and must have experience in a healthcare environment. This is a full time post of 37.5 hours per week but there may be part time opportunities available Main duties of the job To work under the supervision of the registered Nursing, Midwifery teamsand / or Clinical Leads to: Participate in the delivery of patient care. Contribute towards ward / department organisation. Give support to registered Nurses and Midwives in the provision of asafe and caring environment. Assist in the induction, supervision and training of Band 2 and Band 3Healthcare Support Workers and student Assistant Practitioners The Band 4 Assistant Practitioner demonstrates a level of skill andunderstanding which enables them to undertake specific tasks delegated by the Nurse / Midwife in charge and in accordance with relevant procedures,guidelines and policies. They will undertake both routine and speciallyidentified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed ascompetent. It is expected that Assistant Practitioners will be able to carry out all of thecore competencies outlined in the Assistant Practitioners GovernanceFramework, but their duties and competencies will vary according tospeciality agreed extended competencies.
