Job Description
We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer to work for our Head of Infrastructure and DevOps. You will be working closely with our technical and non-technical teams, with a focus on supporting and developing our customer platforms and internal infrastructure and directly contributing to the growth of Achilles.
This role is hybrid, with 2-3 days in either our Abingdon-based Head Office or our Madrid office.
The role is responsible for supporting and developing our business-critical systems and infrastructure to provide the best service to both customers and colleagues.
Specific activities will include server deployment, service configuration, incident resolution, release support, automation and project support and technical guidance, working with teams across the company and regions.
We welcome applications from candidates with either a degree-level qualification in a relevant subject or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a responsible infrastructure engineering role.
We are looking for applicants with strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills. You will be able to plan, prioritise, and execute multiple workstreams simultaneously across multiple technologies.
Core Responsibilities of this role include:
* Work with architects and developers to plan new processes, usage of new technologies, and setup of platform environments.
* Design, review, and implement new processes, technologies, and platforms to ensure they provide the most value to the business.
* Work with project teams to provide infrastructure expertise to create solutions that support project deliverables.
* Identifying and delivering infrastructure improvement projects.
* Monitoring and analysing security and network performance and undertaking remedial activity where issues are identified.
* Implementing security patches and updates onto Achilles environments.
* Performing processes and tasks that support our ISO27001 accreditation.
* Providing Infrastructure support through helpdesk ticketing system within agreed SLA’s.
* Provide documentation for change management and best practices.
* Support deployments and releases across multiple platforms and environments.
* Work on a regular basis with build engineers, developers, testers, business analysts, architects, and configurators, as part of cross-functional teams in an agile project environment.
