The role
The Bars Duty Manager will be responsible for supporting the Bars General Manager and the Bars Assistant General Manager in the effective operational running of the DEYA bars including maintaining customer service standards, overseeing management of staff, delivering an ‘order of service’ in line with brand & sales expectations. To perform the role they must be a key leadership figure for operatives and supervisors, ensure standards are met through effective training and communication, ensure site compliance is adhered to and equipment is well maintained.

Hours: 40h per week - shift pattern - Weds to Sunday

Responsibilities
* Assist the Bars General Manager in fostering a positive and professional workplace environment for the team - collaborate to deliver staff incentives, motivational strategies and lead by example to improve and maintain staff motivation and engagement
* Collaborate with the Bars General Manager to produce and implement the staff training program and report on team performance and welfare
* Deliver excellent customer service and improve the customer experience by handling customer communications for matters regarding the DEYA Taprooms, being the first point of call for handlingcustomer complaints, with support of the Bars General Manager. Suggest strategies and amendments to ensure continual improvement of standards, systems and procedures
* Assist and oversee the Shift Leaders with delivering accurate daily end-of-shift reports
* Ensuring the team adhere to occupational health and safety standards to ensure the bars are a safe place to work and visit
* Enforce cleanliness and hygiene standards in compliance with food regulations and external audits
* Assist the Bars General Manager with the effective management of all stock including: beer orders from the brewery; ordering from approved external suppliers; ensuring stock rotation; reporting on stock levels and sell through
* Assist the Bars General Manager with the effective management of Taprooms systems and processes including: POS & card machines, HR Software, Booking System
* Assist the Bars General Manager with the effective management of Bookings & Events, including food trucks, private hire, equipment and security

Essential selection criteria
* Substantial experience of working in a leadership role in the fast-paced world of a high-volume hospitality setting
* Demonstrable understanding of hospitality service skills, with an attention to detail, to ensure a high level customer experience
* Excellent communication skills to communicate professionally and effectively with people both within the company and external parties
* Considerable understanding of licensing laws, health and safety, food hygiene
* Self motivated with excellent time management, troubleshooting, and organisational skills
* Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
Desirable selection criteria
* Personal licence holder
* Understanding of Craft Beer
* Event management experience
