Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking Clinical Administrator to join the team in the Neuroradiology Department. You will work alongside senior medical secretaries carrying out duties which will include data entry, communication, clinical and non-clinical typing. You will have the opportunity to train in the use of e-record, the Radiology Information System (RIS) and in Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS). You will assist in the co-ordination of a smooth running outpatient's department amongst other general office duties. You will provide a comprehensive and efficient appointment system for the spinal interventional service and provide secretarial support to the medical team within Neuroradiology.
You should be able to integrate well with the existing team, be flexible in supporting the functions of the unit and have a genuine desire to contribute to providing a quality service for patients.
Previous experience with RIS and e-record would be an advantage and knowledge of medical terminology is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
This is a fixed term post until 30th November 2025.

Main duties of the job
On a daily basis you will assist with the scheduling and management of the spinal intervention service in Neuroradiology, admitting patients as a day case and scheduling their appointments. You will also link in with value based commissioning system for spinal intervention. The role involves preparing imaging for several MDT's, emailing out radiology reports and supporting the senior medical secretaries. You will also work closely with Consultant Neuroradiologists and radiographers as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The role also involves speaking to patients on the telephone on a daily basis, so excellent communication skills are essential. You will maintain a high standard of work and be flexible to the needs of the service.
Job responsibilities
* Working within a team of administrative staff to provide a comprehensive support service to Consultants, Medical Staff and other clinical members of their team e.g. Specialist Nurses and Therapists
* Communicates with patients regarding appointments and admissions at the request of the medical team
* Provide cover for Team Leader within your administration team as required
* Cover Clinical Administrator posts Trust wide as required

Qualifications & Education
Essential
* Level 3 qualification in administration or equivalent/relevant experience in administrative role(s)
* English qualification at Level 2 (GCSE Grades 9-4 or A*-C, or Functional or Key Skills at Level 2)
* Maths qualification at Level 1 (GCSE Grades 3-2 or D-F, or Functional or Key Skills at Level 1)
Knowledge & Experience

* Experience of secretarial/administrative procedures

* Working Knowledge of NHS Systems e.g. eRecord, System One
