The Ladder School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our team. The Ladder School is an academy that is part of The Mercian Trust, offering effective alternative provision for the young people of Walsall.
Based on the edge of Walsall town centre, there are excellent links to the local and wider community. The Ladder School operates under a commissioning model, where local mainstream schools will identify students at risk of permanent exclusion and move them to The Ladder School to transform their behaviour and enable them to be successful in their future. These students have struggled in mainstream education environments and benefit significantly from the smaller class sizes and additional support on offer.
Position: Site Support/Maintenance Officer
The Site Support/Maintenance Officer will support the Head of Operations to ensure that the school is a suitable environment for staff to work and students to learn. The applicant should have a willingness to work across multiple sites within the Trust, if required.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Experience of supporting the operational function of a site, ideally in a school setting.
2. Qualification/certificate in Health and Safety, or willingness to undertake this.
3. Good knowledge of how schools work and a flexible approach to ensure effective operations.
4. Experience/qualifications in a practical trade is highly desirable.
5. Commitment to working as part of a close-knit team.
