Be involved in developing specific infection control systems & database for patient caseload management, alert organism management & outbreak reports Establish and maintain channels of effective verbal and written communication about infection control issues within the team, Trust and outside agencies where applicable Participate in action research: clinical audit or surveillance activities where appropriate. Collect, collate, analyse and feedback clinical data from audit and surveillance activities in collaboration with those parties concerned. Undertake environmental audit/monitoring of clinical areas as required Advise on purchase and evaluation of equipment to ensure that appropriate standards of Infection Control are maintained Participate in research relevant to TB, interpret and analyse published research findings and where appropriate apply findings to practice Investigate any complaints or reports of dissatisfaction relating to infection prevention and control issues in a timely manner and take appropriate action, delegate to staff members involved where appropriate Assist in any freedom of information requests within the designated time frame Report any potential risks initiating appropriate action/investigation through the risk management system. Assist in the financial planning for TB. Manage the efficient and effective use of staff, supplies, provisions and equipment within the designated budgets Ensure cost pressures and financial constraints are identified, analysed and managed in a timely manner. Provide advice in the Trust procurement and tendering process in matters pertaining to TB to ensure a balance between best financial value and best quality value in medical equipment, consumables and resource provision for the Trust.
