At our GKN Filton site, we specialize in designing and manufacturing large complex structural wing assemblies, metallic components, and wing systems for civil and military aircraft. We have an exciting and career-defining opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer - Configuration.
The Configuration Management / Manufacturing Engineering role is broad, encompassing many aspects of engineering and change management activities. It is a customer-facing role requiring interaction with both customers and suppliers to ensure all change elements are understood, including quality, engineering, and cost.
As a Configuration Manufacturing Engineer, you will support change and planning of change across functions. You will plan changes to design and redefine processes. The successful candidate will be confident in delivering presentations to various audiences and interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
You will work within a dynamic, motivated, and fast-paced team focusing on strategic implementation and planning of change across the business.
How You'll Contribute
* Collaborate with departments to implement internal and external change requests, resolve system errors, and provide technical feedback to customers.
* Manage complex projects or multiple smaller projects from approval through to production and delivery.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enable continuous improvement and lean practices.
* Analyze customer design proposals and supply changes to evaluate feasibility, cost, and lead time.
* Create change implementation plans to track progress, ensuring delivery within scope and costs.
* Manage stakeholder expectations and relationships, report setbacks as needed.
* Develop and maintain procedures, processes, and instructions for engineering activities.
* Lead program/change review boards for new process introduction.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring

* Ability to read engineering drawings.
* Knowledge of SAP ERP system.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
* Strong team and interpersonal skills.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Self-motivated, organized, and flexible to handle changing priorities.
* Experience working under strict deadlines in demanding environments.
* HNC/HND or BSc in Engineering.
* CMII qualification.
