Why this role matters
The BT Fleet Senior Compliance Manager will have overall responsibility for the Group’s “operator licence”. An operator's licence (or O licence) is the legal authority needed to operate goods vehicles in Great Britain. The licence is issued by the Traffic Commissioner who have powers to take regulatory action against a licence holder where they fail to meet the expected standards of operation. This action includes curtailment, suspension, or revocation of the licence.
As Compliance Manager you’ll be responsible for are ensuring that BT’s fleet of vehicles are:
1. Safe, compliant, and roadworthy
2. Fit for purpose in delivering the Group’s operational needs
3. Efficient and cost effective of the assets deployed
What you'll be doing
The BT Fleet Senior Compliance Manager will ensure that the company meets or exceeds delivery expectations with excellence in:
* Ensure FleetCo are managed appropriately as an external supplier, ensuring they deliver on their contractual commitments and that BT Group deliver on theirs.
* Working closely with BT Fleet Limited (FleetCo), who are a supplier of services to BT under the Fleet Services Agreement.
* Compiling, assessing, and advising the units of the OCRS scores.
* Being the Relationship Manager with the Freight Transport Association and being responsible for the performance of that Agreement.
* Form a sound working relationship with your counterparts across all BT Units to ensure the audit and Fleet audit obligations are met.
* Act as an interface to all “fleet leads” across BT Group to ensure their needs are understood, consolidated, and delivered
* Ensure all risks relating to revenue spend with FleetCo are clearly understood managed to ensure proper mitigation.
* Responsible for the “specialist vehicles” across the Fleet and ensure that these vehicles are managed to maximum efficiency, working closely with Finance to ensure they are accounted for appropriately.
* With the support of your two direct reports, you will take overall responsibility for ensuring the BT Group fleet is safe, compliant, and fit for purpose at all times.
* Undertaking audits (O-Licence compliance, environmental and H&S).
The skills you'll need
* Holds International Transport Manager CPC
* Proven level of technical and organisational knowledge relating to fleet management
* Experience of fleet management across a varied fleet including heavy goods, light vehicles and plant.
* Strategic service and financial planning together with effective budget management and monitoring of budgets.
* Experience of identifying service needs and delivering innovative solutions.
* Experience of negotiating and procuring services within a fleet environment.
* Effective presentation and communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively building trust, mediating, conciliating, negotiating, and delegating.
* Strong organisational skills for planning and reviewing vehicle deployment
