Ifield School are looking to appoint a Driver / Site Assistant from May 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for working alongside our friendly and professional Site Team, with the main duty of driving, upkeep and monitoring of our minibuses. The successful candidate will also be expected to assist the Site Manager with caretaking duties when required to ensure the safety, security and condition of the buildings, Hydrotherapy pool, vehicle facilities and grounds. Applications from candidates that are qualified to drive a minibus would be an advantage.
The post holder will be expected to have driving experience. Building maintenance and/or cleaning skills would be desirable. The candidate will also need to be flexible and self-motivated, have good communication skills and a good understanding of health and safety requirements. No two days are the same and this post offers the opportunity to work in a welcoming, inclusive environment, making a positive contribution to our unique and outstanding school.
Previous experience of working in a school would be desirable but is not essential.
This is a part time contract for 30 hours per week, term time plus 1 week. Working hours will be 9.00 to 3.30 (TBC) Monday to Friday with 30 minutes for lunch. Additional hours may be available.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible and there may also be a requirement to work evenings and weekends occasionally. Overtime hours will be paid at the appropriate rate.
Please note that Ifield School is federated with our neighbouring Primary School, King's Farm and there will be an occasional requirement to work across both sites when the need arises.
