Health Care Quality Improvement Professional WJM Professionals is recruiting for a Health Care Quality Improvement Professional individual to provide personal medical quality improvement/quality assurance services across the HSWL enterprise and to support the HSWL SC. The Quality Improvement Professional will manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of the HSWL SC’s overall quality improvement (QI) program that includes across the enterprise to identify trends, prioritize and recommend improvements, decrease duplication, and ensure external accreditation compliance. The contractor will also investigate incident reports, patient complaints, patient care issues, and other issues as requested by the supervisor. The concentration required for this job performance position is for a strategic Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance position with a forward focus aimed at “prevention” and “risk reduction”. It would include an enterprise-wide Health Safety, Work-Life Service Center commitment, with local and regional feedback to inform the process, maintain alignment, and be structured to ensure compliance through monitoring and work to sustain gains made. The Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance function would provide the analysis and documentation to support informed updates to policy guidance and direction to the enterprise through vehicles such as technical directives, Standard Operating Procedures, and Technical Directives. The functions related to Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance, across all mission sets; require full-time attention by professionals with proven experience. This is imperative to get and maintain the enterprise in the “prevention”, rather than “reaction” mode and foster the commitment to be a self-learning and self-correcting organization. Qualifications. The provider of this QI/QA service shall possess and maintain the following: A diploma, certificate, or degree in health care management, quality improvement/quality assurance, nursing, or other related discipline. Three (3) years of recent experience in healthcare quality improvement programs including outcome reporting required. Military health care quality improvement/quality assurance experience. Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding quality programs including quality improvement and process improvement in a health care setting as evidenced by experience. Provide evidence of previous QI/QA project management to demonstrate an understanding of patient safety issues, knowledge of recognized QI/QA standards, data analysis and reporting, and quality improvement skills. A preferred candidate would have worked knowledge of NCQA or similar accreditation standards evidenced in their resume. Documented Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance experience in the medical field. A preferred candidate would have experience in a leadership role in Quality Management. "No adverse information on file" with the National Practitioners Data Bank (NPDB). Maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) for the Health Care Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), or the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). If licensed, a current unrestricted active license to practice from one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U. S. Virgin Islands. NECESSARY COPIES : A diploma or degree from an accredited program (a digital picture is acceptable as a copy); Copies of all additional post-high school diplomas and/or degrees. Evidence of immunity to Hepatitis “A” and “B” and evidence of freedom from chronic communicable disease(s) i.e., HIV, TB, and Sexually transmitted diseases (within 30 days of start of work); Social Security Card. At least three (3) letters of recommendation from recent employers addressing licensed services. Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) for the Health Care Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) or the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP); If licensed: A current unrestricted active license to practice from one of the 50 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U. S. Virgin Islands. If licensed: Proof of insurability against malpractice in the amount of one million ($1,000,000) dollars per occurrence. Professional Services. The Contractor shall perform a full range of quality improvement/quality assurance services on-site, using government-furnished facilities, equipment, and supplies to many of patients. All aspects of this position shall be commensurate with the capabilities, certification and/or licensure of the candidate and the HSWL SC including but not limited to the expectations listed below; and in the other areas of the PWS. Participate in the Health Services Quality Improvement Program. Prepare and submit appropriate documentation as specified in applicable regulations. Work with a team on the composition of technical directives to aid in quality improvement initiatives. Provide instruction to clinic staff and/or patients on an ad hoc basis. Work directly with the RN Field Technical Manager and Quality Improvement Board members.
