Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Physiotherapist who is passionate about delivering high-quality services and optimising care in the areas of Oncology, Haematology, and Rehabilitation to fulfil this exciting role as Specialty Physiotherapist and join our inpatient Acute Oncology and Haematology service based at the Churchill Hospital. You will join our innovative, forward-thinking team working in a supportive environment with strong quality focus. This role would be suitable for those looking to develop their Specialist Oncology skills or experienced Band 5 Physiotherapists ready to step into a Band 6 role.
The post holder will be an essential part of our team providing rehabilitation services to these speciality areas. In line with best practice guidance and emerging research, we intend to build on existing expertise to provide high quality, specialist therapeutic interventions and rehabilitation to a greater proportion of those in need.
Main duties of the job
* To provide high quality, safe and effective physiotherapy services to Oncology and Haematology patients, as part of a cohesive multi-professional team.
* To work collaboratively with patients and their carers to effectively assess, goal plan and treat patients with an oncology and haematology condition and strive to maximise their independence and quality of life.
* To supervise and teach recently qualified physiotherapists, support workers and physiotherapy students.
* To actively participate in quality improvement, clinical audit, and research projects.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Degree in Physiotherapy
* Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
Experience
* Broad range of experience at Band 5 level including core areas, such as general medicine, orthopaedics, neurology, older adults.
* Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience of working with students and support workers.
