Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Secondary School)

Daily Rate: £85 - £90 depending on experience
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and dynamic team in a vibrant secondary school in Plymouth. The role will commence in January 2025, offering an exciting opportunity for someone committed to making a positive impact in the lives of students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs, including learning difficulties, emotional and behavioural challenges, and autism spectrum conditions.
* Assist the SENCo in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and ensuring the students' academic, social, and emotional needs are met.
* Work closely with teachers to differentiate lessons and adapt learning materials to support SEN students.
* Provide one-to-one or small group support as required, both inside and outside the classroom.
* Monitor and report on students' progress, highlighting any concerns or developments to the SENCo and teaching staff.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment that encourages student engagement and independence.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Have previous experience working with secondary school students, preferably within an SEN environment.
* Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* Be adaptable, patient, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
* Hold an understanding of various SEN needs, including ASD, ADHD, and dyslexia, with the ability to implement effective support strategies.
* Have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* A relevant qualification in SEN or education support would be desirable but not essential.
