Civil / Structural Engineer
This is a new opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our team, working 37.5 hours per week on our Energy from Waste projects. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to our innovative projects and be a part of a company that values growth, collaboration, and excellence.
As our Civil Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing structural solutions for our projects.
Your day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to:
1. Assuring the performance specifications for the design of assets are appropriate for the safe operation, maintenance, and lifespan of the facility.
2. Reviewing the technical proposals of Consultants and Contractors carrying out the design of new facilities.
3. Managing the decision quality of trade-offs and design selections to ensure that the project is optimal, particularly to meet the value objectives of the projects.
4. Managing the civil design works from Pre-FEED to Detailed Design, tracking interfaces and ensuring that all specifications and requirements are maintained by all stakeholders for full process integration.
5. Maintaining accurate and timely reports on relevant KPIs, progress, key risks, and issues concerning the project and providing regular reports to the business.
You should possess the following:
1. Professional certification as a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer.
2. Proven experience of capital project development and delivery in the UK in a civil engineering role.
3. Strong technical civil engineering knowledge relevant to industrial facilities, power generation, and/or the petrochemical industry.
4. A good understanding of project development phases and the requirements of pre-FEED, FEED, and Execution.
5. Ability to prepare project performance scopes of works and review technical proposals from Consultants & Contractors.
Desirable knowledge/skills would include:
1. Design of EfW or waste management engineering facilities.
2. Professional qualification in project management.
3. Sound working knowledge of CDM regulations.
4. A good understanding of site construction techniques, management controls, and quality assurance protocols.
