The EHS Team at Ware are responsible for providing the campus with a framework to effectively manage Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) risks. This incorporates a wide range of issues including: assessment of EHS risk; formulation of policies and procedures to comply with legal & company standards; setting of EHS aims and targets; performance monitoring; environmental / waste management; emergency planning; incident and accident investigation and crisis management.
Job Purpose:
Reporting to one of the Site EHS Leads, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective safety, health and environmental management systems across the Ware campus. This includes the provision of technical advice and assistance to managers and staff to enable EHS performance to be managed effectively (and contributing towards achieving the Ware site vision and commercial aims).
Day to day your role will include the development, dissemination, implementation, monitoring and review of site–wide or area EHS procedures and practices. You will provide authoritative EHS advice to multi-disciplinary project teams dealing with site or area EHS development issues (taking account of statutory and corporate requirements and site business aims). In delivering your role you will maintain effective and constructive relationships with key EHS stakeholders, such as regulatory authorities, GSK corporate functions, contractors and suppliers. You will also advise, assist and monitor key managers and staff to ensure the site maintains an
audit-ready status at all times. This element of the role includes identifying, investigating and reporting on serious incidents, injuries, occupational illness, and EHS compliance contraventions and formulating and recommending remedial actions to management (including maintaining a site incident management plan and relevant resources).
We are interested in hearing from experienced professionals with NEBOSH certification or equivalent (either at Certificate or Diploma level).
About You:
This role would suit a self-motivated person who has strong experience of working in an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) role. You will also be resilient and calm under pressure. Strong people skills and a proven ability to influence people to achieve and drive performance are considered fundamental to the role. You will also have a strong continuous improvement mindset.

Basic Qualifications:
* Relevant experience of working in a regulated technical industry with relevant qualifications in Scientific or Technical discipline (or strong equivalent experience).
* NEBOSH Certificate or similar qualification in occupational health & safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Operational knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes in the pharmaceutical or FMCG (or similar industry).
* NEBOSH Diploma or degree in EHS related subject
