As a Senior Mental Health Nurse working within the team at HMP Highpoint you will work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options. You will undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed. You will assess patients health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge. You will ensure that you assess physical and mental health of prisoners on admission to the prison and throughout their period of custody so that any appropriate referral can be made. You will also be responsible for making a clinical judgement with regard to any immediate need and long term treatment.

Youll receive an annual salary up to £44,000 per annum - depending on experience.

HMP Highpoint is a Category C men's prison over 2 sites in West Suffolk on the A143, located near to Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Cambridge.
