Job Overview:
Do you have experience as a Family Solicitor? Are you seeking a new challenge? Our client is looking for a Family Solicitor to undertake fee-earning work and provide a profitable contribution to the work of the Firm. You will ensure the successful development of the Firm in line with the business plan.
Essentials:
1. Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or equivalent
2. A Family Solicitor who has expertise in all aspects of family law
3. 2 years PQE upwards (although this level is a guide only)
4. Ability to manage own case load with or without support staff
5. Utilise the firm's practice and case management system
6. Ability to assist with the marketing of the department
7. Strong IT skills
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
9. Dependable and flexible to business needs, as overtime will be required occasionally to include working weekends
Key Responsibilities:
1. Family Law, including separation, divorce and finances upon divorce
2. Children Matters
3. Domestic abuse and domestic violence injunctions, divorce and children law
4. TOLATA claims
5. Drafting legal documentation to include Cohabitation Agreements and Prenuptial Agreements
6. Financial control with particular regard to cash flow control through collection of monies on account and billing procedures
7. Providing assistance to other fee earners within the office/Firm as required particularly during periods of sick leave or holiday absence
8. Minimise risk in dealing with all work and ensure that all files are managed in accordance with the Firm's risk and file management procedures
9. Carry out all work in accordance with procedures and systems documented in the Office Manual, and the Firm's training seminars
10. Supervision of fee-earning work undertaken by colleagues
11. Bill clients in accordance with notified charging rates in accordance with time spent on the client file and achieve financial targets for income
