We are currently recruiting for an experienced Tool Room Engineer, to join our plastic injection moulding client based in Leeds (LS27).
Salary:
£35K - £42K per annum
Working Hours:
42hrs over a bi-weekly shift pattern, Monday to Sunday:
1. Week 1: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun (60 hrs)
2. Week 2: Wed, Thurs (24 hrs)
Purpose of the role:
To service and repair our mould tools.
Main duties:
1. Servicing of our mould tools for their use in the Production department.
2. Mould Hot Runner maintenance and testing.
3. Disassembly and assembly of the moulds.
4. Metal polishing.
5. Identifying faults and separating what is mould related and process related.
6. Address tool breakdowns by identifying the fault and making the best choice to repair to have the tool working in Production as quickly as possible.
7. Advise on new tooling projects to highlight potential design weaknesses.
8. Assist in ensuring adequate stock levels for tooling and consumables are maintained.
9. Demonstrate ability to work unsupervised.
10. Demonstrate ability to make decisions based on data.
11. Use internal software as appropriate to facilitate this role including Q-Pulse, Mattec, Microsoft. This list is non-exhaustive.
12. Maintain a high standard of record keeping in accordance with the Company Management Systems.
13. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times including 5S.
14. Work with your departmental manager and team members to identify, implement and drive actions for continuous improvement.
15. Manufacture of fixtures and spare parts for tooling.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Toolmaking apprenticeship or NVQ 3 in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Experience in Injection Moulding.
3. Considerable experience as a Tool Maker / Tooling Engineer.
4. Previous experience on injection machines.
5. The applicant ideally would have experience in a manufacturing environment and have the ability to work in a high pressure site.
