Job Description
Finalto is a leading financial services provider specialising in liquidity and trading solutions for institutional and retail investors. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Operational Risk Manager to lead the development and enhancement of our operational risk framework. This role is ideal for a professional with a deep understanding of operational risk and the ability to apply industry-recognised techniques to drive value for the business and strengthen its operational resilience.
As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with departments across the organisation, gaining exposure to all facets of risk management while working to embed a robust operational risk framework throughout the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of operational risk and its integration into business processes, an understanding of technical systems and a proven ability to build effective working relationships across teams.

Key Responsibilities:
* Risk Framework Development and Maintenance:
Design, implement, and continuously enhance the operational risk management framework, policies, and procedures.
Ensure alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
* Risk Identification and Assessment:
Develop the understanding of identification and assessment of operational risks, including process inefficiencies, technology failures, fraud, compliance gaps, and external threats.
Conduct regular risk and control assessments and scenario analyses to evaluate potential impacts and recommend mitigation strategies.
* Risk Monitoring and Reporting:
Create risk reports for all levels from daily monitoring to board level reports - presenting clear and concise information to drive improvements and prioritisation.
Develop and maintain key risk indicators and dashboards to monitor operational risks, identify trends and recommended areas of focus.
Provide detailed and actionable risk reports to senior management, risk committees, and stakeholders.
* Incident Management and Analysis:
Oversee the investigation of operational risk incidents, including root cause analysis, linking to risks and controls and documentation of lessons learned.
Work with the business areas to implement actions to prevent recurrence and improve resilience.
* Business Continuity Planning:
Review and develop Business Continuity Plans to ensure they are up to date, tested, effective and meet regulatory expectations.
Work with technical teams to understand their processes in depth, including Disaster Recovery Plans to ensure they are tested and effective and meet regulatory expectations.
* Stakeholder Engagement and Advisory:
Act as a trusted advisor to business units, providing guidance on operational risk matters.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors, regulators, and third parties on risk-related issues.
Working with departmental managers to develop policies and processes, presenting this in clear and understandable manner relevant to the users, utilising tools such as flowcharts.
* Training and Awareness:
Develop and deliver operational risk training programs to build risk awareness and promote a culture of risk ownership within the organisation.
* Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on emerging risks, regulatory changes, and industry trends.
Drive innovation in risk management practices and tools.
Skills and Qualifications:
Qualifications
* Professional qualification in Risk Management (IRM, IOR or similar).
* 3+ years' experience in Operational Risk Management or Audit functions.
Technical Skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Experience with operational risk management software (knowledge of SharePoint is a plus).
* Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
* An understanding of and experience with financial products.

* Strong presentation skills, including the ability to deliver training sessions to large groups.
