An exciting opportunity has arisen within The Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (EIP) of Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust for a passionate and highly motivated At Risk Mental State (ARMS) Care Coordinator (Band 6) from either a Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Social Work background to join our team.
The EIP service in Nottinghamshire is delivered through a multidisciplinary team of practitioners who provide comprehensive assessments and evidence-based treatments for people aged 14-65 who are experiencing a First Episode Psychosis (FEP) or an At Risk Mental State (ARMS) for the development of psychosis.
The team is a community-based service which operates Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
We welcome applications for full time work.
We are particularly interested in hearing from people with skills and experience working with adults with a range of mental health difficulties who require complex case management/clinical interventions.
You will have the opportunity to access training and to develop your existing skills in working within all the relevant Pathways. We are a very supportive and experienced team who work to a recovery and psychologically informed model.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for applicants with a keen interest in working with the client groups served by ARMS and a desire to effectively support their families, to join a dedicated, enthusiastic and supportive team.
A good understanding of the principles, ethos, assessments and interventions associated with working within an Early Intervention in Psychosis ARMS pathway will be key. We provide additional training and support to contribute to the successful delivery of a high quality NICE concordant service, including Behavioural Family Therapy (BFT).
Training will be offered to equip the person to undertake evidence-based interventions for example BFT, psychosocial and CBTp informed interventions.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Day to Day Duties:
1. Caseload management for patients with an At Risk Mental State, living in the community, and acting as care coordinator.
2. Triage of referrals, provision of initial assessments and one-to-one interventions with service users.
3. To undertake and record comprehensive need/risk assessments, devise and implement treatment plans for service users using CAARMS assessment tool.
4. To demonstrate the application of specialist skills and knowledge in order to maintain professional competence and fitness to practice as a nurse practitioner.
5. To establish and maintain robust communication networks with clients, carers, team members, other health care and social care workers within urgent care and the community.
6. To use interpersonal skills in diffusing potentially emotive situations while undertaking assessments and pathway planning within acute settings.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

* Maintains current registration with a governing body.
