Facilities Technician
£35,000 to £37,000 (negotiable) plus benefits
The Facilities Technician is a permanent position based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire for a medium-sized manufacturing company.
The Facilities Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of manufacturing facilities, associated infrastructure, and manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, timely, and efficient operation of all plant machinery and equipment.
Key responsibilities for the Facilities Technician:
* Maintain assets such as plant, machinery, property, etc., to ensure safe, continual, and efficient business operations.
* Ensure that periodic and preventive maintenance are appropriately scheduled and accomplished, and that troubleshooting and maintenance support are readily available as needed.
* Update records of work activities, tasks carried out, parts used through stores, and training given.
* Work closely with manufacturers, suppliers, and internal departments in finding ways to improve processes and increase machine reliability and performance.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience for the Facilities Technician:
* Competence in plant operation and maintenance.
* Engineering knowledge, including basic Electrical, Mechanical, and Hydraulic skills.
* General property maintenance knowledge and skills.
* Knowledge of plant operation principles, methods, and processes.
* Able to handle day-to-day and strategic issues, operational requirements, and management of the manufacturing facility.
* Good analytical skills with sound problem-solving abilities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Strong communication skills.
Hours of work for the Facilities Technician:
* Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm
