Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated deputy service manager to join our busy Surgery, Perioperative Medicine and Adult Critical Care team. You will support this award-winning team to effectively manage patient flow, admin and clerical teams, service improvement projects, and financial performance. You will be responsible for the day to day management of the Elective Scheduling Team, who are responsible for booking all preoperative assessments, and elective inpatient and day case surgery. You will already be familiar with RTT, FDS and DM01 pathways and targets. As part of Team Surgery, you will work closely as part of a triumvirate to deliver high quality, efficient and forward thinking services across RLH and MEH. You will be part of a team that is responsible for Scheduling, Theatres, Critical Care, Anaesthetics, Pain, and Elective Care. You will play a key role in actively managing the Scheduling Team and all processes that are associated with elective care patient pathways at RLH including overseeing the boking of elective patients for POA clinics, ensuring timely resolution of DQ issues, and oversight of the SHDU bookings. The purpose of this role is to ensure a smooth and efficient service for patients throughout their journey before surgery, and on the day of surgery. You will also establish and oversee specific workstreams that are part of the Theatres Efficiency Group. A strong patient focussed attitude, and a collaborative working approach is key. Main duties of the job As part of the triumvirate leadership team, the post-holder will be responsible for ensuring the safe, high quality, efficient and financially sustainable delivery of all services within their portfolio. The post holder will play a key role in actively managing the Scheduling Team and all processes that are associated with elective care patient pathways at The Royal London hospital including overseeing the boking of elective patients for POA clinics, ensuring timely resolution of DQ issues, and oversight of the SHDU bookings.
