Role Title: Translator
Location: Llysfasi
Contract Type: Hourly Paid, Flexible hours, Permanent
Salary: £16.02 - £17.47 per hour (plus holiday pay)
Coleg Cambria is seeking a dedicated Welsh Translator to join our team at the Llysfasi site. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the implementation of the college’s Welsh language policy, promoting bilingualism in teaching, study, and administration. Your responsibilities will include translating a variety of corporate documents, teaching resources, and other materials from English to Welsh and vice versa, ensuring accuracy and adherence to the Welsh language standards. You will also proofread, edit, and advise staff on bilingualism and translation matters, helping to maintain high-quality Welsh communication across the college.
Your expertise will also be called upon to advise on the college’s Welsh language policy, the Welsh language standards and related matters. In addition, you will be assisting with administrative tasks related to the role and representing the college at internal and external events as required. This role requires a proactive approach to professional development and a flexible attitude towards your duties.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this position. We are looking for someone who is not only fluent in Welsh but also passionate about promoting the Welsh language within an educational setting. Essential Requirements
1. Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification in an appropriate subject
2. Experience in translation work
3. Excellent oral and written skills in Welsh and English
