What You'll Be Doing
:
Analyses requirements and designs to understand how data is used, manipulated and processed.
:
Experience of data modelling, particularly in the context of a system that stores data primarily using relational databases.
:
Strong SQL skills, prior experience with PostgreSQL is particularly beneficial. Ability to code in Python and/or Java.
:
Experience with any of Elastic Search/Open Search, AWS data storage technologies and Apache Kafka would be highly desirable.
:
Uses appropriate software development tools: e.g. version control, CI pipelines.
:
Strong knowledge of industry standard disciplines and best practices.
Skills and Experience:

Is able to understand, review, contribute to or construct data models and designs, and is capable of building code in line with designs

Is aware of data compliance and legal considerations around storage and analysis of data, e.g. data protection, security and privacy

Considers the maintainability of the code they are developing

Continually increases knowledge and experience of languages, frameworks, technical concepts and methods

Continually increases knowledge and experience of the data domain

Uses appropriate data development methods, languages, libraries and techniques and applies these to development tasks to achieve the most effective outcome
