EAL Level 2 Teaching Assistant – Secondary School, Oldham

£85 - £100 per day via Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel are seeking an experienced and dedicated EAL Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Oldham. This position is available for an immediate start or in January 2024, depending on your availability.
About the Role:
As an EAL Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students whose first language is not English, helping them to overcome language barriers and access the full curriculum. You will support both individual students and small groups in developing their English language skills, while also helping to build their confidence in all subject areas.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support for EAL students, ensuring they can fully participate in lessons and school activities.
* Assist with the development and implementation of personalised learning plans for EAL students.
* Support students in improving their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
* Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to monitor student progress and ensure appropriate support.
* Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
About You:
* A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is essential.
* Experience working with EAL students in a secondary school setting is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of the challenges faced by EAL learners and a passion for helping them succeed.
* Excellent communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
* A proactive and adaptable attitude, with the ability to work well as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
