The Priory Learning Trust is looking to recruit a passionate and caring individual as a Pastoral Learning Support Assistant to work at Berrow Primary Church Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who would relish the chance to support children to engage with learning, feel successful and to achieve the best they can. This role focuses on supporting the wider operations of Pastoral Support and Safeguarding within the Academy.
The successful applicant will be able to form strong positive relationships with individuals and be motivated to remove any potential barriers to learning. As part of this role, you will;
• Promote children’s well-being by encouraging them to develop good relationships with others. Motivate and empower them to develop their self-regulation and self- esteem and help them to adjust to new challenges.
• Work closely with staff at all levels in both teaching and support roles as well as with parents and students to ensure the safeguarding, mental health and behaviour provision of the Academy operates effectively.
• Work closely with families and children, creating supportive relationships and signposting them to available help.
• Contribute to the school-wide management of behaviour with all children and especially those who, at times, struggle in school.
• Assist in tracking complex student needs, coordinating multi-professional support and focussing school strategy on key safeguarding and mental health needs under the direction of the Safeguarding team, SENDCo and Headteacher.
