Description Legal Technical Supervisor – Estate Planning From £40,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6A) Full time, 37.5 hours. Monday-Friday Remote, with occasional travel across either of our four office locations in Bristol, Manchester, Sheffield, or Stratford-Upon-Avon Due to continued growth of the department, we’re looking for an additional technical supervisor to join our estate planning team at Co-op Legal Services. In this role, you’ll oversee technical supervision, training, and case quality throughout the department, giving technical legal advice and support to colleagues, making sure we’re providing the best service for our clients. We’ll also look to you to line manage a high performing team of experienced case supervision lawyers, making sure they’re meeting performance targets and providing upskilling where required. This role would suit someone who has been a professional support lawyer in the field of private client or has extensive technical estate planning knowledge and experience and is looking to develop their managerial skills. There’s no client facing work, time recording, or billable targets, and they’ll be no business development work, allowing you to focus on the law, quality assurance and your leadership development, and as we continue to grow there’s never been a more exciting time to join us. What you’ll do Provide technical legal advice on estate planning cases to team leaders, case supervision managers, case handlers, legal assistants and key partners through a variety of channels Inclusively line manage a team of case supervision lawyers, ensuring their development Manage your team’s performance, reviewing MI and reports to make sure that performance targets are consistently being met Perform file audits and review outcomes in accordance with our internal frameworks Work with the head of practice to identify and deliver training and design policy improvements to address themes highlighted in supervision outcomes Support with recruiting team leaders and legal staff Work closely with senior team leaders to upskill them on technical matters to allow them to better support their teams Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the law and estate planning within the private client field, briefing the department on any changes in the law and practice This role would suit people who have Extensive legal technical private client skills, with a focus on tax, wills, and estate planning The ability to inclusively lead and develop an expert team of legal professionals A passion for technical excellence within private client law, and keeping on top of market insights Excellent relationship building skills and communication skills at all levels Why Co-op?
