My client is seeking a skilled and experienced Site Manager with a strong background in joinery to oversee healthcare refurbishment projects across the North East. The ideal candidate will have the technical expertise to contribute to high-quality joinery work and the management skills to complete and oversee Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMs), health and safety documents, and adjust project programmes to ensure smooth project delivery.
As a Site Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering projects to the highest standards while ensuring compliance with stringent health and safety requirements, particularly in live hospital environments. This role requires exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders to maintain strict project timelines and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Site Management: Oversee day-to-day operations on hospital refurbishment projects, ensuring the smooth coordination of trades
* Joinery Expertise: Provide hands-on guidance and problem-solving in joinery-related aspects of the refurbishment to meet exacting quality standards.
* Health and Safety Compliance: Create, maintain, and enforce health and safety documentation, ensuring all work complies with current legislation and hospital-specific protocols.
* RAMs Preparation: Develop, review, and manage Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMs) to align with the safety standards required for live hospital environments.
* Programme Adjustments: Review, update, and adjust project programmes as necessary to account for project changes or unforeseen delays, ensuring on-time delivery.
* Hospital-Specific Considerations: Coordinate work in live environments, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations, patients, and staff.
* Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and motivate on-site teams, ensuring a collaborative and productive work environment.
* Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure all work meets client expectations and the company’s high-quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven joinery background, with hands-on experience in construction or refurbishment projects.
* Site management experience, particularly in refurbishment projects; experience in hospital or healthcare environments is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and familiarity with hospital-specific compliance requirements.
* Proven ability to prepare and implement RAMs and other safety documentation.
* Experience in reviewing and adjusting project programmes to meet changing needs and deadlines.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Proficiency in construction software and tools is an advantage.
* Valid CSCS card and relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., SMSTS or SSSTS).
* Driving license and willingness to travel across the North East to various hospital sites
