Working with the Community Dermatology Team, you will play a key role in driving improvements and innovations in the management of patients with a range of skin conditions, in particular acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin lesions.

We are recruiting one full-time (37.5 hours per week) post and one part-time (24 hours per week) post.
Main duties of the job
As a Dermatology Junior Nurse Practitioner, the post holder will be responsible for delivering a high-quality nurse-led service to patients requiring a range of treatments and providing education and support to those suffering from chronic skin conditions. You will support senior and junior staff in the department and help with service development. You will develop your leadership and decision-making skills.
Job responsibilities
* To provide patient-centred care to those presenting a range of dermatological conditions.
* Undertake comprehensive holistic assessment of patients in planned care situations, be able to prioritise clinical need, initiating investigations, determine a differential diagnosis and implement a plan of care reflecting evidence-based guidance.
* To maintain agreed standards of care, integrity and dignity of all patients in an environment which is conducive to caring for those patients in the clinical setting.
* Undertake triage when required within the service determining clinical priority of referrals, working with the senior team to ensure patients are signposted to the appropriate service, according to clinical need.
* Work collaboratively with multi-professional teams to ensure practice is efficient, effective and evidence-based.
* To develop his/her scope of professional practice in order to support the team to meet service requirements in accordance with professional guidelines.
* To ensure the provision of expert knowledge to all users of the service.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse.
* Practice Assessor Qualification and experience.
* Nurse prescriber or willing to work towards.
* Willing to work towards a Masters in Clinical Dermatology.
* Level 7 module in dermatology (Long term skin conditions).
* Teaching qualification.
* Literature critical appraisal skills training.
* Research awareness course.
* Audit training.
Experience
* Substantial experience of dermatology, which would normally be gained through working at Band 5 level or within a more senior role.
* Experience of managing a range of dermatological conditions.
* Portfolio and evidence of continuous professional development / achievement of relevant competency framework with a willingness to extend skills and knowledge and an ability to share this.
* Multi-disciplinary/multi-agency working.
* Local teaching and presentation experience.
* Link nurse or team lead for an area of practice.
* Participation in audit.
Physical Skills
* Ability to move and handle safely without causing harm to themselves or others.
* Demonstrate manual dexterity to perform clinical procedures and operate medical devices.
* Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle.
Skills and Knowledge
* Excellent inter-personal and communications skills.

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 a year Pro-Rata for part-time hours
