Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join Cambridge University`s Adult Emergency Department Senior Nursing team.

You will provide professional clinical leadership and will have responsibility for the effective and efficient nursing management of the department .
P laying a pivotal role in the department you will oversee the delivery of high quality care, supporting service improvement and monitoring standards within the ED.
Main duties of the job
To provide team and shift - based management, co- ordinating the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
To utilise specialist clinical knowledge of emergency nursing to provide professional leadership and ensure safe, effective and expedient patient care.
To support the management of the ED access target and to ensure that the multidisciplinary team is supported to fully participate in the achievements of those targets.
To ensure the constraints that inhibit the achievement of the targets are clearly documented and reported within the trust to those who have corporate responsibility.
To provide clinical nursing leadership and expertise in the care of all patients and create an environment that values and supports staff to reach their full potential.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to improving patient care through professional and clinical development.
To act as a bronze level manager in the event of a major or other incident.

Qualifications
* Current registration with NMC on part one or two of the register
* Evidence of continuing professional development and its application
* ILS
* Teaching and assessing qualification
* Other post-basic, health-related courses
* ALS/EPLS/APLS/ETC/TNCC
* Working towards degree pathway
Experience
* Proven clinical practice
* Experience of utilising reflective practice
* Recent experience of working within an acute care setting.
* Significant experience at Band 6
* Experience of shift management/bleep holding/operational leadership
* Clinical supervision or Action Learning
* Demonstrate experience of using the disciplinary and capability procedures
