SEN Teacher
* Daily Rate: £150 - £220
* Location: Brent
* Job Type: Temporary with the possibility of permanent
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive team in Brent, working with Key Stage 3/4 students at an SEN school. This role involves teaching a small class of 9 students, including two wheelchair users. The students have a range of needs including PLMD, medical needs, and ASC. They are active, enjoy exploring, and participate in various activities, requiring a highly organised routine. The class is supported by 5 experienced staff members.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Deliver tailored educational activities to a diverse group of students with special educational needs.
* Manage a classroom of 9 students, ensuring all individual needs are met, including those with physical disabilities and medical requirements.
* Implement and adapt highly organised routines to support students’ learning and engagement.
* Work collaboratively with support staff to ensure a safe and stimulating environment for all students.
* Develop and implement positive behaviour plans to enhance student engagement and learning.
* Monitor and report on the progress of students, adapting teaching methods to meet varying needs and abilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
* Must have significant experience in special educational needs (SEN).
* Strong organisational skills to manage varied routines and needs within the classroom.
* Ability to create and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
* Excellent communication skills to collaborate with support staff and engage with students effectively.
* Patience, resilience, and a dedicated approach to improving student outcomes in an SEN setting.
