About The Role Our Head of Operations plays a critical role and focuses on ensuring the efficient administration of Academy operations, providing essential support to the Academy Manager. External – Opposition Club Coaches, Parents Budgetary Responsibilities: Kit, Officials, Transport costs, Location: USW Sports Park, CF37 5UP Hours: 37.5 per week Job Purpose: The Head of Operations at Newport County AFC is responsible for the efficient administration of the Academy's operations, providing vital support to the Academy Key duties include managing player registrations, coordinating fixtures for the U9-U19 teams, and ensuring compliance with regulations from football governing bodies such as the FA, EFL, and UEFA. The role also involves leading communications with players, parents, and staff, coordinating Academy events, assisting with player transitions, managing documentation via SharePoint, and supporting audit preparations to meet compliance standards. Remuneration: Dependant on qualification and experience. Role Responsibilities & Key Duties To be a member of the Academy Management Team, perform functions withing that role and feedback to department Work with guidance from The Football League and Local safeguarding Children Boards (LSCBs) and in line with The FA requirements for work with children and young people. Football Administration: Ensure accurate documentation for player registrations, scholarship agreements, and loans in coordination with football governing bodies Fixture Management: Oversee fixture arrangements for the PDP (U17-U21) programme, including officials, medical cover, and bookings. Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations from The FA, Premier League, EFL, UEFA, and FIFA, and ensure documentation is compliant Communication: Lead all communications with Academy players, parents, and staff regarding key updates and events To lead the tutoring of the qualifications, through having planned lesson, and to ensure these are engaging, creative and in line with our quality assurance process To mark and assess work of the learners and where necessary assist those who need extra support by delivering small group work Event Coordination: Support and lead on Academy events, including awards, CPD events, and tours. Player Pathways: Assist with player transitions and exit strategies, working with the Head of Player Care and Emerging Talent To attend Saturday or Sunday fixtures where applicable To attend all Academy meetings where applicable To undertake appropriate CPD in line with EFL rules and regulations To complete any other duties as deemed reasonable by the Academy Manager The oversight of the Scholar education programmes including attendance at educational programme meetings, ensuring adherence to such programmes and, where required, taking appropriate action in the event that targets are not met About The Candidate Person Specification Qualifications EFAiF Level 2 DBS check Degree in related subject ( Desirable ) Experience working within football regulations Knowledge of the Football Intelligence Platform Skills, Knowledge & Experience Experience in administration or operations. Knowledge of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP).
