This position has a starting salary of £32,512 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.
This is an 12-month fixed term contract or secondment opportunity.
We are excited to be hiring two new Information Governance Officers to join our fantastic Children's Information Governance Team based in Woking. This role is open to hybrid working and as a team we split our time between working from home and collaborating together in the office two days per week, currently on a Wednesday and Thursday.

About the Role
The Children's Information Governance team handle a wide variety of information requests, such as Subject Access Requests under the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR, Court Orders, Police Investigations and Operations, Freedom of Information requests and more, we also deliver advice, training and guidance to staff across the Children's, Families & Learning Directorate.
This is a busy role, where no two days are the same! Reading and redacting information forms a large part of this role so you will need to be very focussed. You will also cover the duty inbox on a rota basis, answering both email and telephone enquiries from internal and external stakeholders. You will provide them with timely, clear and effective advice. You will use the electronic document and case management systems in operation in Children's Services, while demonstrating an understanding of confidentiality.
Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your CV and personal statement will evidence the following:
* Excellent time management skills as you will take responsibility for managing your own caseload and ensuring legislative deadlines are met
* A proven knowledge of redaction as we can only disclose data within the parameters of relevant legislation
* Ability to work flexibly to perform different tasks within the Information Governance team to meet service needs
* A meticulous eye for detail; we work with highly sensitive, complex and confidential data on a daily basis
* Excellent communication skills; keeping an open dialogue with all stakeholders throughout the process is essential as you will be working closely with other departments and external agencies
* An understanding of legislation such as: Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR and the Freedom of Information Act 2000
* A good level of IT skills in Outlook, Word and Excel
