About the Opportunity
Astra Content is leading the search for a business / global trade journalist to join an exciting new content hub being created by a major international bank. This platform is designed to empower small businesses, providing them with tailored knowledge, insights, and tools to succeed in global trade. The content hub will deliver credible, actionable, and engaging editorial content to help SMEs navigate the complexities of international markets with confidence.
Who We’re Looking For
As one of the platform’s main writers, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the platform’s content offering. We’re seeking individuals with strong editorial backgrounds, excellent research skills, and a passion for delivering valuable insights to SMEs in sectors such as food and beverage, consumer goods, and manufacturing. We strongly encourage current and former business journalists to apply, including those who have covered trade and related sectors, business, macroeconomics, or the financial industry.
Responsibilities
* Research & Writing: Create high-quality articles and updates that cover global trade topics, such as trade policy, market trends, supply chain challenges, export opportunities, and regulations.
* Content Development: Write clear, engaging, and actionable content based on webinar recordings and interviews with in-market experts.
* Editorial Standards: Deliver well-researched, objective, and fact-checked content in British English, adhering to editorial guidelines.
Key Details
* Audience: SMEs based in the UK, Europe, and North America, with a focus on domestic and internationally trading businesses.
* Markets: Content will cover SME home markets and 35 core destination markets.
* Sectors: Focus on food and beverage, consumer goods, industrials, and manufacturing.
What You Bring
* Strong ability to research and distill complex topics into actionable insights.
* Experience writing about business, global trade, or related sectors.
* Proficiency in British English and adherence to professional editorial standards.

Details
This is a full-time remote contract role (40-hours a week). The writer is expected to be online / available for normal UK / European business hours. The initial term of the contracts is six months, but we fully expect the contract to be extended for a full year and beyond if the platform is successful.
