Lead a specialized team of credit professionals focused on managing accounts facing financial challenges while also balancing the financial impact of impaired loans to FCC’s portfolio. You’ll make decisions and provide recommendations to optimize the recovery results on all distressed loans, including developing, implementing and administering special loan policies. This position is designated bilingual (English and French), and the successful candidate must be able to communicate in both of Canada’s official languages.
What you’ll do:
1. Lead, coach, build and maintain a strong Special Credit team by providing staff with direction, consistent vision and technical coaching on credit risk
2. Manage the development, implementation and administration of FCC's Special Credit risk policies, guidelines and systems
3. Develop, review and authorize strategies for the workout or recovery on high-risk distressed loans over a wide geographic area
4. Make decisions that have a significant impact on the bottom line of the organization
5. Build strong partnerships with other FCC divisions and work collaboratively with other business units
6. Champion change management during policy adjustments and when implementing corporate direction and decisions

What you’ll need:
12. A bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business or commerce and at least 10 years of ag-related or commercial finance experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
13. Extensive knowledge of the Canadian agriculture and agribusiness industries and commercial and agricultural lending practices (including risk management strategies and managing portfolios needing intensive oversight)
14. Expertise in Canadian creditor legislation, lending and recovery practices, bankruptcy and receivership
15. Experience applying advanced credit analysis and risk mitigation strategies
16. A professional agrologist designation is an asset
